Ideas for Social Media Content

By Adam  |  25 Mar 2016 12:00:00

Social media grows bigger every day, with more social networks cropping up and more people getting involved all the time, so it's no surprise that this is proving to be an excellent way for businesses to market themselves too. But for some people. coming up with fresh content for their social media feeds can be difficult. What can you do to ensure that your social media feed is full of stuff that will make people want to come back to you? Well, you might like to try some of these ideas:

Sharing Other People's Content

Social media is called "social" media for a reason, and if you're not sure what to share in your social media feeds, why not trying sharing other people's work? I'm not talking about plagarism here (that could get you in trouble) but you might like try properly retweeting and directly sharing posts from others. The people whose posts you share will be happy that their work is getting a broader audience and your customers will have a fresh supply of good content. There are lots of pages specifically based around sharing of inspiration or funny images and quotes and many of these might be appropriate for your pages.

Giveaways

If you can afford to do them, giveaways can really help to draw people in to your social media pages. If you take a photo of one of your products and then share it along with something like "Like and share for a chance to win this" then people will share your posts amongst their friends. People will then be more likely to follow your pages in the hopes of finding more giveaways and, since they're now following you, this gives you the perfect chance to market to them and to increase sales!

Blog Content

Are you blogging too? If so, by all means share those posts on your social media feeds! Blog content is perfect for sharing on social media, especially if it contains the kind of informaiton which will benefit others. In fact, it would be unwise not to share your blog content on your social media pages, as it really gives you a chance to expand the readership of each post.

Office Humour

What some people like about social media feeds, is that it gives them the chance to get a look at the human side of businesses. Post photos of what's going on in your office and be a bit jokey about it. This kind of office humour may not be directly linked to what your business does, but it will endear people to you and is well worth trying. Does someone in your office have this quirky thing that they do? Share it on social media! Is there an ongoing office joke? Include your social media followers in it. Of course, this sort of thing needs to be appropriate for a broad audience, but fun, innocent humour is well worth sharing.

So I hope this gives you an idea of some things you could be sharing on your social media pages!
