Selling on Facebook With Our Facebook App

By Adam  |  29 Jun 2015 07:00:00

When you're running a business which makes use of an eCommerce website, you want people to be able to buy things from that website as easily as possible. Sometimes this will even mean having people able to buy the products from the website without evening visiting it. I've written before about how you can use Sellr to list items on your website and eBay simultaneously and you can also sell items over Facebook with a helpful app which we have created.

If you use this app, it's likely to be very useful and to drive your sales. First, think about how useful social media is. If somebody visits your eCommerce website and likes what they see, as well as making a purchase they may well go ahead and 'like' you on Facebook. That is, presuming that you have clear links to all your social media outlets on your website, which you should. Once they've 'liked' your page, all of your posts will start appearing in their newsfeed, which means you've got a great way to keep your business in your customers' minds.

Now consider this: maybe somebody has 'liked' your page and they keep seeing posts by you. They may think to themselves "Oh yeah. That company is pretty good. I must go back to that website and get something else soon." But their busy schedule means that they never really get around to returning to your website and so, just like that, you're missing out on sales. If you use this app, and advertise the fact that your customers can buy things from you directly from Facebook, situations like that won't happen. When it comes to the internet, you have to make things as convenient as possible because people are busy and if you make things difficult for them, they won't buy from you.

If a customer sees a Facebook status that says "We've just got these new hats in store! Head over to our site and get your own now, or you can even buy them directly through Facebook!" they're likely to be impressed. If they want something and they can get it that easily, they're probably going to make a purchase. Furthermore, while it may not be as common, if somebody 'likes' a Facebook post you make, all the other people on their friend list can see it and all of them are potential customers. People are cautious about giving out their payment details to lots of different websites, but if they can see that a friends of theirs is publicly endorsing a site with their 'likes' that's going to help them to trust you, and when they see that they can make purchases directly through Facebook (which they obviously already trust) it's not impossible that they will make purchases directly through Facebook without ever even seeing your website.

So, as you can see, Sellr provides you with all the best tools to help drive sales and market your business. If you've got a business idea, but haven't signed up yet, why not do so right away? It is free, after all!
