How to Get Around Twitter's Character Limit

By Adam  |  18 Jul 2016 12:00:00

This person just finished reading this blog post.

Are you somebody who has trouble with Twitter's character limit? Maybe you have a lot to say about your eCommerce website? Maybe you like to write long funny posts which wouldn't work if condensed for Twitter? Maybe it just takes you a long time to explain what your business is or what your products are and you'd like to be able to do that occasionally? Well, worry not because I have the answer to your problems - I know how you can get around Twitter's character limit.

So what are you expecting? Some kind of really clever way to out smart and override the character limit as you input your tweets? A clever hole in the system? Well, you would be wrong as it's a lot more simple than that. All you need to do is include the majority of your text in any images you upload. You can make fancy graphics which show off your products and your prices, make charming little remarks about them and then share it with the majority of your character limit to spare (some of it will, however, still be gone as images take up some of the characters.) What's especially good about this is that you can then use the rest of the characters to include a URL (because obviously people need a way to access your site and just seeing an image promoting it is less likely to bring people across) and you could then also include as many hashtags as you want, to ensure that it reaches as many people as possible.

This approach can be very handy, but it does have its set backs. If you don't have a graphic designer on board, this is just going to make you look quite unprofessional and this also needs to be done just right - if it's not done properly, there's the risk that some of the text may not display properly and you'll really have just wasted your time. Nonetheless, this could be very helpful and I hope it gives you a good idea of one of the ways that you can market your eCommerce website and if you don't yet have an eCommerce website, sign up to Sellr right away!
