Implement a Customer Survey

By Adam  |  14 Aug 2015 15:00:00

Doubtlessly, you're always going to be looking for ways to enhance and improve your eCommerce website, but sometimes it can be hard to figure out what needs to be improved. How do you know what your customers would like to see from you? If you just try and guess at their needs, you might make an 'improvement' which, in the eyes of the customers, has actually made the website less appealing. But have you considered... asking them? The best source of information about what your customers would like is your customers themselves!

It could be a very good idea to implement a survey on your website, in a newsletter or somewhere else connected to your business. You can ask them how helpful the customer support is, how easy to navigate the website is, whether they knew about a certain feature, if they follow you on social media, why they choose you over competitors, how they found you, what'd like to see from you in future and so many other things. Assuming you are able to get people to see it and fill it out. The answers to these questions will be very valuable because it can show you which aspects of your business to focus on more in your marketing, which form of marketing has most effective, what new features would be welcomed and so much more. If a hundred people filled this out, you'd doubtlessly have ideas for a lot of things to do in future! That's not to mention the fact that extremely positive feedback could also be used as testimonials and content marketing.

One good service for surveys is Survey Monkey. I'll go into the specifics of that in another blog post, but take a look around now if you're interested. Also bear in mind that there are other services available and if you come up with your own way of conducting such a survey, by all means try it. Hopefully you'll be able to make effective use of a survey and your eCommerce website will continue to thrive. But if you don't even have an eCommerce website yet, but have always wanted one, then sign up to Sellr now! It is completely free to do so.
