The Decline of Twitter

Twitter is one of the most well-known social media sites. Up with Facebook, Twitter has been around for years and people have been using it to market their businesses for a long time. But will it last? Well, in a very interesting turn of events, Twitter is actually on the decline. Over the last year, they've had fewer and fewer people signing up to Twitter accounts and more and more people closing their accounts. What does this mean for the future of Twitter? Might it go the way of Bebo?

 

So where did it go wrong? Why is Twitter not doing as well as it used to? Well, the problem is that Twitter users are just too negative. More and more often people are leaving just because so many of their tweets are met with mean, bitter replies from members of the Twitter community. Of course not all Twitter users are bad (#NotAllTwitterUsers) but there are a very vocal group who spoil the experience for a lot of people. Does this mean that you should give up on your Twitter marketing? Absolutely not! Twitter is still used by millions and millions of people and you can reach them with well written tweets and good content. Just be aware that the numbers are falling and it may not be this way forever.

 

In the world of technology and the internet, things are always changing. Something that everybody's using and/or doing today might be completely forgotten in a year's time!
