Use Dropbox to Backup Your Files

By Adam  |  18 Aug 2015 19:00:00

If you run an eCommerce website, you've doubtlessly got a lot of computer files which you would like to keep safe. Maybe you've got a spreadsheet for your finances, a document with all your passwords in case of emergency, plans for the future or whatever else. If you're running a business, you should have a lot of documents like that, but what would happen if your computer broke? You'd lose everything! So, of course, you want to find ways to keep these files safe: there're external hard drives, which are good for backing up on, USB sticks and you could even print things off to keep hold of a physical copy. One of the best ways to back things up, however, is with a service called Dropbox.

Dropbox is great for a number of reasons; firstly, it backs up all of your files 'in the cloud' and means that they will remain safe even if your whole house burns down and all of your hard drives and USBs are destroyed. Secondly, because your files are 'in the cloud' it means that you can access them from any computer you like. If you're away from home and using a different computer, you might still want to do some work on your eCommerce website. But what if you'd need access to important files to do so? Well, if you had Dropbox you'd always have access to all of your files! Plus, on top of all that, it's free to use. Sure, you don't get any enormous amount of space for free, but it should be enough (3gb) and if you've got loads and loads of files, I guess you're probably a somewhat larger business anyway and therefore shouldn't struggle to afford the bigger packages.

So if you have been looking for a way to keep your files safe, perhaps Dropbox is the service for you! Not only will it make sure that your files are backed up and secure, but also that you have access to them whenever you need them. It might just help to make your business even more efficient. But if you haven't started your eCommerce business just yet, then why not sign up to Sellr now? Much like Dropbox, it is completely free to use.
