Avoid Social Media Procrastination
Social media marketing is an essential marketing strategy for all businesses and especially for those based exclusively on the internet. Social media is also very addictive. Let's say you had your day planned out and part of that day was dedicated to working on your eCommerce website. One of the first things you need to do is make a Facebook post. Oh. But, look, Tony has uploaded his holiday photos. It'll only take a few minutes to give them a look! Now Jane has sent you a message; it would be rude not to reply and it won't take long to tell her about your day. Ha ha! That looks like a funny video; better watch it now because, if you don't, you might never get the chance to see it again. As you're here you may as well... Oh. You've been on Facebook for three hours and have done nothing for your eCommerce website.
That's the risk of social media marketing. Though it is essential for promoting your business, it also stands the risk of getting you into a rut of procrastination. So what can you do to ensure that social media is a benefit to your business and not preventing you from getting to work? Well, I personally find it useful to turn off Facebook's chat feature from time to time, which can be done by clicking the cog under the names on the right and then clicking "turn off chat". But if that's not good enough for you, then the ability to run your social media feeds directly through Sellr might be quite useful. You don't even need to be on your social media feeds to be able to write tweets and post Facebook updates, so there's no risk of you getting distracted. Not only that, but you can use it to schedule posts in advance, meaning you can keep active even when you’re away. Another option could be to not create your business page with your personal Facebook account, but to make another, fake Facebook page to manage your business feeds; then when you go on you'll easily avoid distractions because the fake profile will have no friends.
If procrastination is an issue for you when you're on social media, I hope that one of these solutions will have been helpful! If you still haven't started your eCommerce website yet, when not sign up to Sellr and do so right away? It is completely free.
