If somebody makes a large donation to charity, it's generally viewed as a negative thing if they then always tell people about it. "They don't care about that charity," people might think to themselves, "all they care about is their ego!" and, in a way, you can understand why people might think that. You can also understand, therefore, why it might be that someone who cut their business's budget for the year so that they could donate a large sum to charity, would think that it was best not to tell anyone about that due to fears of seeming egotistical. But that's not the case!

You should be proud of your business and all the good that it does. With the example of donating to charity in the name of your business, it is very important that you tell your customers. Why? Well, it shows them that if they buy products from you, their money is going towards good causes! It will make existing customers proud that they chose you and it will give potential customers even more of a reason to buy from you. But, of course, it's not just purely altruistic things like giving to charity that you should be proud of. You really shouldn't be afraid to highlight what it is that makes your business so strong because these are the facts that will bring you new customers.
