How to Avoid Overheating

By Adam  |  29 Jul 2016 12:00:00

I just snapped a quick pic
through the window. Pretty hot outside.

Recently, a lot of you will have realised that things have been getting a lot hotter! It's summer, it always happens. But as it gets warmer, you not only need to ensure that you're taking all the steps you can to ensure that you are keeping at a healthy temperature but also that all of your electronics are too.

Make sure that you're drinking plenty of cold water throughout the day, because a case of sunstroke would really set you back when it comes to work – that's not to mention the potentially disastrous effects on your health. You also want to make sure you're wearing lots of sun screen when you go outside: even if it is just light and not sunny, your skin can still burn! It's fairly simple to keep yourself cool, but what can you do with your laptop? Rubbing sun screen into it will break it and so will pouring water on it. You can't have it wear less clothes, because it is already naked all the time. So what is there to do? Well, if you are working outside (which is a nice idea for the summer) keep it out of direct sunlight, as that can cause it to get hot really fast, especially if its black. This same thing can happen if you're sitting in the window and you leave it there – the sun may not be shining through at the time, but it might be later. To further help counter this, you might also like to consider getting a laptop cooling pad, which reduces the risk of overheating. Also make sure that you're shutting it down and not just closing it!

If you overheat you might die, if your laptop overheats, you might lose all of your files. Two things which are quite undesirable! So keep these things in mind and stay happy and healthy as you manage your eCommerce website this summer – if you don't even have an eCommerce website, then sign up to Sellr now and get started for no cost at all!
