How to Avoid Typos
When you do content marketing you want to be sure that your content is posted with the smallest possible number of typos. I'll admit, it is virtually impossible for you to eliminate typos completely; hugely successful novels go out with typos in them and how many times do you think they were proofread? How many different proof-readers do you think there were? Yet they still slipped through, so what chance do you have? But that doesn't mean that you can't eliminate them 99% of the time. So what can you do to avoid typos?
Well, actually, you might be surprised to find that the most common cause of typos is editing. When people read through something, they might think that a sentence sounds a little clunky or would be better with a word added here or there, then they might make some slight changes. However, when you make a slight change, you might then not realise that you've accidentally done something which makes the sentence as a whole sound wrong. Maybe you decided a sentence wasn't necessary and deleted it, but forgot that you said in the previous sentence that you were about to talk about its subject; maybe you thought something would sound better in past tense than present tense and so changed it but missed one word. Those are just two examples but it is, ironically, the editing process which most often causes typos.
Therefore, I think it is always best to read something at least twice before you post it for the whole internet to see. The first read through should be to make sure it all sounds good, to edit any bits that don't and to eliminate any typos, and the second read through should be to finalise it and make sure it is ready to go out. If you use this method then hopefully you'll do an even better job of avoiding typos.
