How To Leave Wix
Perhaps you wanted to launch an eCommerce website or blog and decided that Wix would be a good outlet for that. You signed up, got started but then realised that Wix didn't seem to be quite appropriate for you after all. Doubtlessly you'll want to close your Wix account, but how can you do this? Wix is actually a little complicated, when it comes to closing your account, so this blog post will act as a guide.
You might notice that when you click on your name at the top right and then on 'Account Settings' there is no clear way to close your account. The reason for this is that the option to delete your account is actually hidden away somewhere in the 'Support' section. There's so much in the 'Support' section, however, so to make things easier for you here is a link to the page you need to go to to close your Wix account. Something you need to bear in mind, however, is that it is impossible to close your account if you have an ongoing premium plan. You'll have to cancel it or wait until your plan expires if you want to close your account and, as you'll have already paid for it, it is best to get the most out of it. Other than that, you also need to delete your Wix websites, transfer any Wix domains you own and delete any domains which are connected to your account via another provider. This might sound a bit complicated, but the deletion page gives you links to pages which will walk you through that. After that, you just need to enter your email address and password and make a request for deletion. You'll get an email shortly after with a link to click through to and then there is one last chance to reconsider before you press the final delete button and 'destroy' your account (their word).
Anyway, once that's all done you'll have ended your relationship with Wix. So now what? Well, I hope you won't give up on your plans for a blog or eCommerce website just because of one service which wasn't right for you! We've written a blog post in the past which covers the strengths that Sellr has over Wix and so if you were looking for a new service, it might be worth your time to give that a read. As Sellr is completely free, it can't hurt for you to give us a try! We hope that, if you do use Sellr, you'll find it to your liking!
