Improve your Search Engine Ranking With SEOquake
Anybody who runs an eCommerce website, or indeed any kind of website, will want it to rank highly in search engines. The problem is that search engine optimisation (SEO) can be hard and you may well struggle to know what needs to be done; this is why you might be interested in a little something called SEOquake. SEOquake is a handy web browser plugin which you can use to monitor pages to ensure that they are as SEO friendly as possible and therefore improve your search engine ranking.
There are several things which SEOquake will do for you: it lets you know if your titles are too long or too short, it lets you know if the URL is a good length and it lets you know the keyword densities of any page. Those are just a handful of the things SEOquake can do. The keyword density of a post is the percentage of the words that make up the text on a page, which are keywords you expect people are searching for. You will want keyword densities quite low most of the time (2% or 1% if you're going for a phrase and higher for a single word) but it will occasionally be appropriate to aim for higher percentages (mostly on pages where the text is not the main appeal.) If you have a very high density on a certain word or phrase, search engine algorithms may erroneously identify that as spam. Titles have to be just right, because if they're too long, they will be penalised by search engines (to prevent people from spamming keywords in titles) but at the same time they also need to sound interesting to encourages internet browsers to click on them.
The more you use SEOquake, the more things you'll naturally pick up on, meaning that you're likely to have to use SEOquake less, for example, once you get a feel for how long the ideal title is and no longer need to check. Even if you don't end up using it very much, it's well worth installing SEOquake because it's completely free and only takes a moment to do. If you're worried that you're not ranking highly enough in search engines, then it's definitely worth experimenting with! Hopefully you'll be able to use this to improve your search engine ranking and get lots of customers for your eCommerce website.
