Linking Back to Your Website
In the early days of your eCommerce website, you want to have as many people as possible find it. So what can you do to make sure that your website doesn't remain neglected in a cold and empty corner of the internet? Well, of course there's social media marketing and content marketing, but I want to talk about something in this post which doesn't really fall under either of those terms; something which, like them, can also be done without having to spend a penny.
How many websites do you have an account with? How many websites are you fairly well known on? If you take a moment to think about it, you will probably find that it is quite a few. Whether its forums, social media platforms or even creative spaces, you may well have a good number of sites which you are already affiliated with in some way. So what you need to do is to make sure that anyone who found you through any one of those websites would then be able to find a way to get back through to your eCommerce website. On most websites, when you make a profile they have an optional "website" field which can be filled in so that other users can then find your own site. Check all the websites you're a member of and fill that in. Not only that, but let people know on those websites too; if you're on a forum, there's no shame in creating a thread to promote your business and letting people know that you'd really appreciate it if they'd take a look.
The point is that if somebody finds you online, they should then also be able to find your business. Wherever you are, make sure that the connection between you and your business is emphasised. You never know how many customers you stand to gain through this method! That's not to mention that the more sites that link back to you, the better your search engine ranking! But if you don't even have a business to link back to yet, because you haven't made your eCommerce website just yet, then sign up to Sellr now! You can get things started for no cost at all.
