mCommerce and fCommerce
The world of eCommerce is always growing and expanding. Recent innovations include the development of both fCommerce and mCommerce which both seem to be starting to take off right about now. If you're worried that you and your eCommerce business might fall behind: relax. In this blog post I am going to take you over both of these new developments and show you that it will be very easy for you and your Sellr store to keep up.
So, firstly, mCommerce, which is simply eCommerce over mobile phones. With the invention of smartphones, people are doing ever more of their internet browsing and searching on their mobiles and making less and less use of their home computers or laptops. Of course, it is unlikely that PCs and laptops will be fully replaced by these, but with eCommerce websites people want convenience and being able to buy at any time through their mobile phone is convenience. If you didn't realise, Sellr gives you the tools to optimise your eCommerce website for mobile use, so you don't need to worry about this. Certain businesses are taking the leap and becoming app-only, but I certainly do not think that this is something that the average eCommerce business even needs to be considering at this point.
fCommerce, meanwhile, is eCommerce done over Facebook. To be quite honest, I don't think that eCommerce over Facebook is really very deserving of its own term: I mean, mCommerce I can kind of understand, since it's a different platform to what everybody had been used to and adds a new slant to things... But fCommerce is just more of what we're already familiar with. What Facebook plans to do is charge businesses a (as of yet undetermined) price to start selling their items directly through their Facebook business pages. We think that's a bit of a rip-off since Sellr gives you everything you need to sell over Facebook.
So, with those things in mind, why not take the steps to ensure that you are both Facebook and mobile friendly? Accommodating as many people as possible can only hope to drive sales! But if you've not launched your eCommerce website yet, why not sign up to Sellr right away and create one for free?
