PayPal Splits From eBay
You may or may not have known that PayPal was owned by eBay. This had been the case since 2002 but as of Friday, PayPal has split from eBay! PayPal is now an independent company and, on Monday, was valued at being worth £34 billion! We'd known the split was coming for a while, but it is still big news for the world of eCommerce now that it has.
The fact that PayPal is worth £34 billion says a lot about the current world of eCommerce. That's an unimaginably large amount of money and the reason it has gotten to be worth so much is because eCommerce has become so mainstream. If you've been thinking about starting up your own eCommerce website, what better time than now is there to do so? I struggle to imagine that things will get anything but better for eCommerce in the years to come.
Furthermore, PayPal is no longer limited by eBay in regards to what it can do. Being owned by eBay will have meant that PayPal would have been unable to work in collaboration with other businesses to provide eCommerce services which could have rivalled eBay. Of course, there's no way of knowing what it is that they are going to do next, but it's exciting to think of the possibilities; perhaps they'll create a service which would be just the thing to really drive sales on your own eCommerce website? Regardless, these are exciting times!
So, if you've got the time, and it's something you'd like to do, sign up for Sellr now! It seems to be the perfect time to climb aboard the eCommerce locomotive! You can use Sellr without paying a thing, so it makes sense to get this started! It’s better to get ahead with your eCommerce business now, when you have the time, than to regret it in future.
