SEO Loopholes
When it comes to internet businesses, everybody wants to have good SEO. Good SEO brings you up to the first page of internet searches and so does a lot to help you get more customers. SEO is supposed to work like this: if a site has good content, provides a good product/service, is well laid out and is running ethically, it will come up highly. However, sad as it may be, things don't quite run so smoothly and there are lots of little things that people try to do to trick the system so that they rank more highly than they should.
I want to use today's blog post, not to tell you about lots of little SEO loopholes to try and get your site to rank more highly, but to advise you against trying to trick the system. Aim for good, well written content, be honest, sell good products and aim to make things better for the customers. You see Google (and they're the main one you should worry about) is constantly updating their algorithm and so if there is currently a loophole that helps you to rank highly more easily, it will soon be fixed! Often, if people had been exploiting some loophole in a search algorithm, their sites will then rank much more lowly once this has been fixed because whatever was being done to squeeze through the loophole will afterwards be identified as bad.
Having said that, I don't want you to think you should ignore SEO entirely! There are certain layouts for sites which rank more highly (because they are more user-friendly), content helps and there are lots of other important factors. Essentially, to improve SEO, you need to always be thinking about how you can make your website better. If you're doing something for SEO which won't actually benefit the user in anyway, it's probably not worth it in the long run.
