123-reg is one of the more popular website hosting services and so there's a good chance that you may have used it to acquire the domain name for your business. If you have purchased a domain name through 123-reg then this blog post will be a guide on how you can use that domain for your Sellr eCommerce website. Just in case you aren't sure what a domain is, allow me to give a concise explanation; your domain is basically what the URL of the website will be (e.g. www.yourdomain.com).
Log onto the 123reg.co.uk control panel
On the 123reg control panel...
select your domain name
click on 'manage'
click on 'manage dns'
click on 'advanced dns'
Click the edit entry button (to the right of the destination/target column) for both the @ and * records.
in the hostname box enter www
in the type box select cname
in the destination cname box enter your sellr url e.g. 5500123.sellrstores.com
click on 'add'
That's it!
It might take up to 24 hours for the dns to propogate and take effect.
On the Sellr control panel go to 'website'/'website domain name'
Enter your domain name in the box. e.g. www.yourdomainname.co.uk
Click on 'Save'
With that done, you're just about ready to make your business dream into a reality! The next stages of the process are done on the Sellr website (under 'Website' and then 'Website Domain') and hopefully the instructions will be clear enough for you to follow. But if not, contact us via email at support@sellr.com or over the phone at 1225 422200. We're more than happy to help!
