Set Up Your Domain Through eNom

If you want to start up an eCommerce website for your business, then something you may well be considering is buying a domain. While it is not required, owning your own domain is a good idea because it helps to make your website look more professional, which in turn will help people to take it more seriously. Of course, you might want to get started without your own domain at first, but it's something you should think about eventually if you don't do it right away. A popular web hosting site is eNom and in this blog post I am going to talk about choosing your domain name and then about how you can use an eNom purchased domain for your Sellr site.

You should take some time before you choose your domain as it is quite an important decision. Don't just go for anything you think won't be taken or even just your name, because those would generally not be good choices; a random phrase isn't really going to make your site look good, and if you go for your name alone, people aren’t likely to find it during their general searches. Even going for your business name isn't the best choice (though it is better than the other options I mentioned). The best thing to do is to go for the name of your business followed by a word or two about what your product or service is. If the business was called Hello Sunshine, and you were a van rental company, a good domain name could be www.HelloSunshineVanRentals.com. That way people who search simply for 'van rentals' might find your website.

Anyway, once you've decided on a domain name and purchased it through eNom, this is what you have to do to use it for your Sellr store. When you are logged in and on the main page, go to the 'Domains' tab and click on 'My Domains'. Then when you have an overview of your domains, click on 'Host Records' next to the domain you want. On the next screen in box next to www 'CName Alias' write in the URL of your Sellr store. Make sure you save all changes before you leave eNom!

After this, you're almost done! Just head over to Sellr, log in and go to the 'Website' tab and click 'Website Domain Name' and you'll find the next stages of the process laid out quite simply for you.
