Should You Use Google Plus for Social Media Marketing

Lovely logo.

When people think of social media, they probably think of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest – all of the big ones. The social media network which people are rather unlikely to think of is Google Plus, because Google Plus is generally considered to have been a bit of a failed endeavour. Nonetheless, this is one website which you might wish to include in your online marketing campaign, because it does have certain strengths.

While Google Plus might be looked at as a poor social media outlet by some, what you have to remember is that it was created by Google. Google, of course, run the search engine which eCommerce owners depend on to get customers and the rankings in these search engines are determined based on a rather complicated algorithm. There are an enormous number of things which factor into this algorithm and one of these is a site's Google Plus account: if they can see that you're posting good content and have a big following, this will be an indicator that you have a genuine site worthy of ranking highly. So using Google Plus for social media marketing might actually provide some SEO benefit, but that's not all! Google Plus doesn't have a very good reputation and so a lot of businesses don't use it: if none of your competitors are on there, but you are, that will give you a slight advantage.

So I hope that gives you a good insight into one of the very many avenues available to you for social media marketing. This could prove to be an excellent way to market your eCommerce website, but if you don't yet have an eCommerce website, sign up to Sellr now and get started right away for no cost at all!
