Sellr Blog

Taking Time off Your eCommerce Business

By Adam  |  17 Aug 2015 10:00:00

So there you are, reading the freshly posted Monday morning Sellr blog post written by me, and I'm not even at work today. Since it's a day off, there's a good chance I'm not even out of bed! But the blog continues to run, business as usual, even without me there to maintain it. In fact there'll be some Twitter and Facebook posts too. As you can tell, here at Sellr, were at very efficient and, using our services, you too, can be just as efficient.

Of course, Sellr isn't a one person operation like some of your businesses will be, but the point of this post is to highlight to you the importance of making sure things run smoothly even on days when you are not able to manage the business yourself. When it comes to social media marketing and content marketing, you can schedule posts in advance through Sellr, which means that you can easily keep that going while you're away (as I have done with this blog post). In terms of the other areas of your business, you could ask a friend or family member to keep an eye out for any orders that are made while you're away and make sure everything goes ahead okay with that. If you can afford to, you could even pay somebody to look after your website while you are gone, you are a business after all. But, generally speaking, Sellr provides you with everything you need for all of this if you're going to take a day or two off; for longer periods of absence, it would be best to have somebody cover, though.

The fact is, that even though you will take days off, your customers will not, because unlike a conventional shop, you can't just close for a day or two! Even on Christmas day somebody might come to your website and make an order (perhaps they are keen to spend their Christmas money) so you need to always ensure that things are running smoothly. People will be very annoyed if they try to order something, but there is some issue with the website (which you could easily fix if you were there) which will remain unresolved for some time because you're taking the week off. They might be so dissatisfied that they never return.

Sellr helps you to avoid some of the problems mentioned in this blog post, so if you were thinking of starting up your own eCommerce website, sign up for Sellr now! It can be used for no cost at all.
