The Free Alternative to Adobe Photoshop - GIMP
When you run an eCommerce website, it's important for everything on your website to look professionally designed. You'll want a logo that looks good, graphics to highlight sales, maybe a mascot and much more. As such, you're going to need to have some good image manipulation software. Abobe Photoshop is the one piece of design software that everybody knows about (the phrase "that's been photoshopped" didn't come from nowhere) and so you might want to get it for the benefit of your eCommerce business... But did you know Photoshop is very, very expensive? We're speaking hundreds of pounds here and that's not the kind of money small business owners can easily spare!
So for today's blog post I would like to introduce you to GIMP, a free alternative to Adobe Photoshop. GIMP provides many of the same features as Adobe Photoshop and is a pretty substantial piece of image manipulation software, but what makes it appealing to a lot of people is the fact that it's completely free! If you're just a one person business and you don't have any design skills, you could download this and then just have a play around with it in your free time. You might be able to learn a thing or two through trial and error and there's a useful supply of free guides online anyway. It shouldn't take you too long to be able to put together something that should be professional enough for your site.
Hopefully this is something that will be useful for those of you who need something for graphic design, but also need to be conscious of their budget! GIMP could be just the thing to help make your eCommerce website look just that little bit more professional. But if you don't yet have an eCommerce website, then sign up to Sellr and put one together for no cost at all!
