Using Social Media for Recruitment
When you run a business, if it grows at a steady rate you will eventually find yourself in a position where you need to hire more members of staff. Sure, in the early days you can probably handle things by yourself, but as the demand for your product increases, there'll be more and more work to do. Eventually, working by yourself might actually be detrimental to your business. Finding employees can be hard, so in today's blog post I'd like to talk a little about using social media for recruitment purposes, and hopefully that will make the process a little easier.
Social media is a very useful recruitment tool for many reasons. Social media is especially popular with younger people (though, really, everybody uses it) and younger people are probably more likely to be the ones looking for work, since they may be getting to the end of their time at school, college or university. Plus, of course, older people are probably more likely to have already found some form of employment for themselves (but, of course, people of any age can be unemployed). Also, if people are unemployed, they're more likely to have a lot of free time on their hands and to pass that free time, there's a good chance that they'll head on to social media. Another thing to consider is that if you have a large number of followers, you know that any tweet or post that you send out is first going to be seen by people who like your business. Perhaps they'd love a chance to work for you?
Any social media marketer knows how far something can go when it's posted on social media and I hope this has helped you to see how it could also be a useful tool for recruitment. Maybe this will be helpful to you right now, and maybe it will be helpful to you in the future, either way it's something to keep in mind.
