Win Wednesday
Social media marketing can be extremely effective and that's why such a large number of businesses are making good use of it. But the thing about social media marketing is that it's so big. I can't cover everything in a single blog post because if I did that blog post would probably end up being novel length! So I think it's best to focus on small things in each post and today I'd like to talk to you about a little something called #WinWednesday.
#WinWednesday is a hashtag (most commonly used on Twitter) and is basically a case of businesses doing giveaways. Someone might tweet "RT this and follow for a chance to win this! #WinWednesday" and then they'd post a photograph of one of their more desirable products. Yes, it's true that you will lose out on making money on one of your products, but actually doing #WinWednesday will benefit your business in several ways. A lot of your followers are probably going to want to get something for free and so you'll get a lot of retweets; followers of your followers will see that all they need to do is follow and retweet you and they, too, will be in with a chance of getting something for free. Lots and lots of people will retweet and this will mean that lots and lots of people will find out about your business for the first time.
With #WinWednesday you are essentially using the cost of the product you gave away to pay for advertising. Of course, you just have to pick someone at random at the end, but who knows how many of the losers might just go ahead and buy it anyway, since you've already gotten them excited about it? How many people will find out about you through the #WinWednesday giveaway and then go on to become customers? At very least, it will increase your number of followers and the more followers you have, the more credible you look to prospects. I hope that you'll be able to make good use of #WinWednesday. But if you don't even have an eCommerce website to do social media marketing for, then sign up to Sellr now and get one started for no cost at all!
