In a recent blog post I mentioned that we'll soon be updating the Sellr control panel in order to make it even more user-friendly. But the exciting news is, we're not only going to streamline the control panel, but we’ll also be adding several new features! As I'm sure you'll probably have guessed by this post's title, Sellr will also receive added live chat functionality, which will help to improve the customer experience on your eCommerce website. Today I'd like to talk about all the ways that a live chat system can help to make a website more effective.

It's quite obvious that customers will appreciate having another way to get in touch with you and a live chat might just be a little more attractive than a customer support email or telephone number. If people were going to write you an email or call you on the phone, that takes up time and maybe even adds to their phone bill, which makes doing so unappealing. With a live chat box, it will always be clear to them that they can very quickly and easily write out their problem so that you can then provide a speedy reply. Furthermore you can send them the first message, which might help to increase sales. When the update comes, you'll be able to see the number of people who are visiting your website at any given time; this counter is updated in real time and you are able to see what pages people are looking at and how long they've been on those pages. This is great because if the variations on one of your products are rather complex (for example) then you might notice that somebody's been on a certain page for an unusually long period of time... perhaps they are having some trouble! You could then send them a message to let them know that help is at hand should they have any confusion.
